Electronic Forms coming soon. Are you ready?

By popular demand Electronic Forms will soon appear in TechDoc. After evaluating many of the forms standards that are currently out there, we felt it best to design our own. Unlike many other Electronic Forms specifications, the TechDoc Electronic Forms specification is human readable XML and simple enough to whip together in any basic text editor! The specification is currently in draft, but will soon be made available.

TechDoc 8 Build 12/08/2014 is Now Available

TechDoc 8 Build 12/08/2014 is now available as a full installation/upgrade setup program or a simple patch on the TechDoc 8 Downloads page. If you are already running the 05/21/2014 or 09/08/2014 build of TechDoc 8, either method can be used but the patch is much smaller and quicker to apply.

It is highly recommended that you update TechDoc 8 to Build 12/08/2014 if you plan to use the "Mass Cancel Document" feature and you have a search manager (DM-597). For full details on this patch, please see the release notes for full details.

New version of TechDoc Client 8 released

A new version of the TechDoc Client 8 has been released and features the following improvements:

  • The TechDoc Client now ships as a fully self contained executable that has been fully optimized for best possible performance.
  • Updated look and feel that matches other release 8 products.
  • Associating anonymous access for folders and documents now functions just as it does in the TechDoc DM.

TechDoc 8 Build 09/08/2014 is now available as a full installation/upgrade setup program or a simple patch on the TechDoc 8 Downloads page. If you are already running the 05/21/2014 build of TechDoc 8, either method can be used but the patch is much smaller and quicker to apply. Build 09/08/2014 includes the following improvements:

  • On document managers, render has been updated to support Hyper-V V2 again after a recent Microsoft update broke it.
  • On search managers, an issue has been fixed in the search engine that prevented searching with forward slashes.
