TechDoc 9.2 is Now Available
TechDoc 9.2 is now available as a full installation/upgrade program on the TechDoc 9.2 Downloads page. If you are performing an upgrade, you must be running TechDoc 9 or higher before upgrading. Some of the highlight for TechDoc 9.2 include:
TechDoc Client 9 Build 05/02/2018 Released
TechDoc Client 9 Build 05/02/2018 has been released and features the following improvements:
- Updated to Java 8 version 172.
- Updated the max length of a document number to 256 characters for TechDoc 9 and newer.
- Updated the reason field to 256 characters for TechDoc 9 and newer.
DM and SM Can Now Run Different Minor Versions of TechDoc
In the past, TechDoc has always required that any Search Manager (SM) running on another server that a Document Manager (DM) sends updates to must already be running the version that the DM is getting ready to update to. Starting with TechDoc 9, this requirement is being eased. The SM and DM are only required to be running the same major version number. For instance, if you are getting ready to update a DM to Release 9, the SM can be running 9, 9.1, 9.2, etc. If you are getting ready to update a DM to Release 9.1, the SM can be running 9, 9.1, 9.2, etc.
TechDoc Client 9 Build 07/19/2017 Released
TechDoc Client 9 Build 07/19/2017 has been released and features the following improvements:
- Updated to Java 8 update 131.
- Fixed keyword issue on documents when a keyword is used multiple times with different values.

TechDoc Client 9 Build 02/22/2017 Released
TechDoc Client 9 Build 02/22/2017 has been released and features the following improvements:
TechDoc 9 Officially Supports Windows Server 2016
DocuBrain has completed compatibility testing and TechDoc 9 is compatible with Windows Server 2016. We now officially support installing and running TechDoc 9 on Windows Server 2016.
Note that if you are still running on Windows Server 2008 R2, you should begin preparing to upgrade your operating system. Microsoft ended mainstream support of Windows Server 2008 R2 on 01/13/2015 and currently plans to end extended support on 01/14/2020.
TechDoc 9 JRE Updated to Java 8u112
The TechDoc 9 JRE has been updated to Java 8u112 to incorporate Java's latest security improvements. Be aware that this JRE only works with TechDoc 9. It can be used as part of a fresh install of TechDoc 9 or it can be run afterwards to upgrade the existing TechDoc 9 JRE to Java 8u112.
Render 9 Build 10/14/2016 is Now Available
Render 9 Build 10/14/2016 is now available on the TechDoc 9 Downloads page. If you already have a Render 8 or Render 9 VM, you can update it by simply following the section called "Periodic Maintenance of the Render VM" in the Render Installation guide.
