DM and SM Can Now Run Different Minor Versions of TechDoc

In the past, TechDoc has always required that any Search Manager (SM) running on another server that a Document Manager (DM) sends updates to must already be running the version that the DM is getting ready to update to. Starting with TechDoc 9, this requirement is being eased. The SM and DM are only required to be running the same major version number. For instance, if you are getting ready to update a DM to Release 9, the SM can be running 9, 9.1, 9.2, etc. If you are getting ready to update a DM to Release 9.1, the SM can be running 9, 9.1, 9.2, etc.

DocuBrain has just completed testing for forward and backward compatibility of TechDoc 9 and 9.1 between DMs and SMs. The TechDoc 9.1 Installation Guide has been updated to reflect this new, less-restrictive version requirement to simplify upgrades particularly when DMs and SMs are managed by different organizations.
