In the past, we've successfully mirrored entire running SharePoint farm instances in a TechDoc DM that included not only all of it's document library content but also all of the site configuration files, layouts, etc. Several hundreds of thousands of different files and types without a hitch.
Also I should add, while TechDoc doesn't have any limitation on file size or file type, some customers have experienced issues trying to push particular files into TechDoc because either their anti-virus software or the anti-virus software running on the TechDoc DM flagged a the file in question and interrupted the transfer. While it's rare, false positives happen with anti-virus software and any type of file can be flagged.
