DocuBrain Workflow Editor Beta Release

The DocuBrain Workflow Editor beta will be released in the next few days and will be available for download on the DocuBrain Workflow Editor Release 8 Downloads page. For this initial beta release of the editor, we've chosen to target just the core set of BPMN elements and functionality. While we hope that you are happy with what have so far and how it works, we understand and expect that there will be functionality that you require for organization that may not yet be present. Please let us know about this, so we can get the bits and pieces you need pushed to the top of the list.

Please post all feedback you have about the editor here in this forum. Any bugs, usability issues, feature requests, etc.

Happy testing!

After close evaluation, it looks as though the main features to be added are as follows in the order listed:

  • Support for BPMN fragments - Completed 7/1/2014
  • Looping for Activities
  • Data Input/Output mapping and associations for Activities
  • Ability to add additional files to a deployment (like miscellaneous attachments and such)
  • Model Validation
  • Better Choreography & Organization support per the BPMN 2.0 spec. (Currently we have not seen or heard from any users that need support for this and Activiti does not appear to use it from what we can tell. This will be address later on if so needed.)
  • Simulation support

As stated, support for fragments has just been completed. We'll be working this list tentatively in the order listed. If you see anything missing you would like added or better supported, please let us know and it will be taken care of first.

We have not yet implemented the additional file functionality yet, but we can probably get it worked into our next release. Our next feature implementation in the editor I believe is data input/output mapping and associations. I'll go ahead and mark it down to be added in the next round of features we add.

Have you come across anything else you would like/need in the editor in the near future?
