Why do I get a template error when opening an InfoPath document from TechDoc?

This is an InfoPath issue and not an actual TechDoc issue. When an InfoPath document is built using a template, Microsoft expects that template to always be available. If not, you will receive a template error when opening the document whether TechDoc is involved or not.

If you open an InfoPath Document with a text editor, look on the first line. In the mso-infoPathSolution tag, there is a href attribute. This specifies the href to the template that this document was built with. If the user attempting to open the InfoPath document does not have access to that href or it is no longer available at that location, you will get a template error.

Apparently, the only way to fix it is to make that template file available again at that specific location in the href or to edit the XML file and point the href to a location where the template file currently exists. There was a URL to an article on bizsupportonline.net that talks more about the issue but it is no longer available.
